Fashionably Warm – Fashionable and Comfortable

Fashionably Warm – Fashionable and Comfortable

While the temperature drops at a rapid rate here in New England, I am constantly battling the internal battle that all of us typically go through around this time of year.  Should I wear sweats or actually get dressed? Don’t get me wrong, I love to look good throughout the year, there is no question to it BUT being a former athlete and being raised in the cold, some days I just prefer to be in my sweats. I also was raised around a Caribbean family that has no care for the cold and loved to be in a comfortable state of mind(All of the time!). Being brought up in those conditions and understanding fashion typically doesn’t care if you are comfortable or not forced me to find something that works for me during those cold days when I don’t care to layer. With that in mind, I wanted to introduce a comfortable look. It embodies comfortability, personal style and the concept that you actually care about how you look. This look, to me, is very comfortable, shirt is out for more of a street style look, the hat is there as the outlier that makes the outfit in my eyes. Rounding out the outfit, I covered up in a tan trench coat (you can never go wrong with a tan trench coat) and wingtips.  You can also play around with the scarf as I did, going with the double loop, single loop or no scarf at all, it is all up to preference. How would you style this look? I would love to hear your thoughts on how you would put this piece together! Your comments are always well appreciated.

-Until next time.

My problem is always how to balance both, I love fashion but at the same I like to keep warm while wearing stylish pieces. I like your coat.

If I could spend the winter only in sweatpants, I would!! You’re rockin’ those winter layers though. Great look — obsessed with men in tailored camel coats!!
